It was a sold out concert at the Stevens Center in downtown Winston Salem this week.
Joe and I were in the audience to see:
Gordon Lightfoot
The Audience - an interesting mix of middle-agers and old-agers. Most clad in blue jeans and casual dress. Several men with long hair / ponytails. Many looking like leftover hippies.
The Genre' - Folk; Canadian Folk
My Favorite Songs - Carefree Highway, If You Could Read My Mind, Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald and Sundown
Gordon will be 72 years old this year, born in Ontario, Canada and a survivor of several major health issues that could have threatened his singing career. He jokes about the February 2010 rumor that he had died. He heard the rumor himself on his car radio on the way home from a dental appointment!
Gordon in the 70's - 1970's, that is:
Gordon today - in his 70's:
Thanks for a fun date night, Joe!

I enjoyed our seniors night out. I love you very much. As Gordon would say in song, "If you could read my mind love, what a tale my thoughts could tell."
