Marco Island Vacation - Oct 4, 2009

We began the day worshiping with the Naples Church of Christ family. It's a very friendly congregation so we enjoy joking with people. When they come up to greet us we look at them and say, "We've been coming here for 9 years!". Then we explain, it's only one week a year for 9 years.....(actually we've been there 2 times in 2009). It just feels like home to us going there.....

For lunch we just chose a place we knew nothing about and it was GREAT!:



We've never heard of Pollo Tropical. It was very good. It is kind of a fast food because it has a drive through and inside you order your food at a counter. But the dining area is nicer than a fast food place and the food is great. It seems to be a chain and the shirts the employees were wearing said they have been around for 20 years. Any of you ever heard of it or eaten there? It's a good day when you just pick a place to eat you know nothing about and it's good!!

Then, back to the Island and our first hours on the beach. We each had a book to read, (here's what I'm reading right now):



There was a constant breeze, and the water was very warm and very calm. The perfect lay-around-on-the-beach day!

Imagine yourself laying on a towel on the white sandy beach of Marco Island. If you look straight up:



Turn your head to the right:



Turn your head to the left:



Now lift your head just a little - look over the belly:



Head still lifted, look straight ahead - beyond your feet:



WHAT A LIFE!

Spent a little time in the pool area before calling it a day and then went to Joey's for a spinach, mushroom pizza!


Delicious, as usual. Joey's is probably our favorite restaurant on the Island.
