This year we traveled to Marco Island on Joe's birthday (54th to be exact - for a little over a month we will be the same age!). Chris, Mindy, Hannah, & Justus were planning on being here with us this year but due to unexpected "life" things like strep throat, broken down car, and air conditioner break down; they had to cancel. WE UNDERSTAND BUT REALLY MISS THEM BEING HERE!!
Here is Joe "patiently" awaitng our departure to paradise:
We flew in to Tampa on Southwest Airlines - the best airlines in my opinion. We were late leaving Raleigh because they were performing maintenance. The pilot apologized several times and made up a few minutes but we were about 40 minutes late. We stopped at Cracker Barrel for lunch AND THEN drove to Marco. And arrived at our home for a week - The Surf Club (Joe says ugliest building on the island):

I hope you are able to keep up the on line journal. It will help me "sorta" be there. We are all SO sad we could not go. NOTHING will stop us the next opportunity. We are SURE of that!!
